McGuiness Farms is growing — and we’re looking for someone who wants to grow with us.
We currently run a 60,000 DSE mixed livestock business across multiple properties in the NSW South West Slopes region. Our target is 90,000 DSE, and we’re looking for another high-performing person to help us get there.
This is not a caretaker farming role.
We want someone young in attitude, energetic, experienced and ambitious. Someone who wants responsibility, wants to make decisions, wants to be measured on results and wants to learn how a high-performing agricultural business operates.
We see this role as the ultimate stepping stone.
Spend the next few years learning, performing and taking on increasing responsibility within a growing livestock business.
Where you take that experience next is up to you — senior management in corporate agriculture, managing a major livestock enterprise, or eventually building and running your own business.
We want to help develop someone capable of doing exactly that.
McGuiness Farms runs a large-scale Merino and cattle operation focused on one thing:
Producing more profit from every hectare we manage.
That means better pastures, better livestock, better systems, better data and better decisions.
We don’t believe “that’s how we’ve always done it” is a good enough.
We’re prepared to invest, measure results and change direction when the numbers tell us to.
You don’t need to know everything.
But you do need to be:
· Experienced with sheep and cattle
· Practical and capable
· Hungry to learn
· Comfortable with technology and data
· Commercially minded
· Prepared to take responsibility
· Willing to challenge yourself and existing practices
· Interested in why something works, not just how to do it
· Obsessed with getting better
Most importantly, we want someone who sees 60,000 DSE becoming 90,000 DSE and thinks:
“I want to be part of making that happen.”
You’re looking for an easy job.
You’re a conservative caretaker who believes maintaining the status quo is good enough.
You don’t like being challenged.
You aren’t interested in measuring performance.
Or you’re not prepared to learn from a business determined to operate in the top 20% of Australian livestock producers.
There will be long days.
There will be pressure.
There will be mistakes.
And there will be an expectation that you learn from them.
In return, you’ll get real responsibility, exposure to a large and expanding agricultural business, access to the numbers behind the decisions, and the opportunity to develop skills that could accelerate your career by years.
We’re looking for someone worth investing in.
If you’re ambitious about agriculture and believe you’re capable of considerably more than your current role allows you to demonstrate, we’d like to hear from you.
Attractive renumeration in AUD (depending on experience ) and comfortable accommodation available.
2 hours from Canberra and 4 hours from Sydney.
