Experienced Stock Person 2IC
A permanent position is available for an experienced stock person 2IC in the Amuri District in North Canterbury on our 10000SU property.
The farm has 1700 ha of developed tussock hill country and 300 ha of flats with irrigation.
4700 xbred breeding ewes plus lambing hoggets , 320 Hereford breeding cows and replacements. All stock finished .
The applicant will need:
· Several years shepherding experience with good dogs suitable for hill country and who has an enthusiasm for sheep and cattle farming and who would like to grow into a role as stock manager responsible for day to day operations working with the farm owner
· Self motivated
· A good understanding of livestock farming including proactive animal health and pasture management.
· A capable and safe hill country stockman
· Enjoy working individually and in a team and who is a good communicator.
· Be capable of giving direction and overseeing other staff on the farm
