Based across Mt Hay Station and Balmoral Station, the role operates across two iconic Mackenzie High Country properties covering around 20,000 hectares combined. We are a family owned farm looking for an experienced Arable assistant to assist with production of cereals and small seeds.  Located 10 minutes west of Rakaia township, on 275ha fully irrigated land. We have modern equipment and infrastructure. What we require- Must be an NZ citizen/permanent resident or hold a current work visa. We require someone who has minimum 2 years experience on an arable farm. Duties include cultivation work, sowing, fertiliser spreading, servicing and maintenance of machinery and irrigation systems, spraying, harvest work and winter grazing for lambs. We run a Merino flock of 29000 sheep, as well as 500 cattle consisting of Hereford and Angus breeds across 40,000 hectares of Upper Waitaki high country. We are located behind the Otematata township so community amenities are minutes away. As a Shepherd you will be working as part of a team.
