Turihaua Station is seeking a motivated and proactive Junior Shepherd to join our progressive Angus Stud and commercial operation.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with 2–3 years of shepherding experience who is passionate about livestock, eager to gain exposure to stud operations, and looking to work alongside an experienced team while taking on genuine responsibility.
Key Responsibilities
Stockmanship & Welfare: Implement stock rotation plans, monitor stock weights and condition, carry out low-stress stock handling, and maintain animal health treatments.
Stud Operations: Participate in annual bull sales, field days, client visits, and stud stock selection and handling.
Pasture & Land Care: Assist with pasture management, pole planting/erosion control, weed control, and monitoring feed quality.
