Senior Stock Manager / Farm Manager

We are looking for an experienced Senior stock Manager or an ambitious person ready to step into a Farm Managers role, on our 265 hectare Sheep & Beef property in Southern Southland.

Our district offers excellent hunting, fishing, surfing, sporting and diving opportunities with a welcoming community.

The farm runs 2000 ewes and 30 breeding cows. The property is run alongside a further 920ha property, around 8kms away.

The successful applicant will be responsible for the day to day management of Fernhill as well as assisting on the wider business 

To be successful, you will:

Be motivated, honest, reliable and a good communicator

Have a capable team of dogs

Demonstrate excellent stockman-ship skills and record keeping

Take a proactive attitude towards Health & Safety and have a good understanding of current farming regulations.

Work well independently while also as part of a team.

Experience required:

Lambing & Calving

Stock handling - including some handpiece work,.

Operating tractors and farm machinery on hill country 

Fencing and general farm maintenance.

Applicants must have

NZ residency or a valid New Zealand visa

A proven work history in Sheep & Beef farming

A current full New Zealand drivers licence
