Block Manager / Assistant Manager

Fairfield – Bigga via Crookwell | NSW Southern Tablelands

A progressive family-owned grazing business is seeking an experienced hands-on Block Manager / Assistant Manager to join our team at Fairfield, a 1,600-hectare/12,000 DSE grazing property located near Bigga via Crookwell on the NSW Southern Tablelands.

It is an excellent opportunity for a motivated and capable livestock operator who enjoys autonomy, responsibility, and being part of a supportive, experienced team.

The Role

You will be responsible for the day-to-day management of farm operations, working independently while collaborating closely with the wider team.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Livestock handling and management of Merino sheep and Angus breeding cattle
  • Livestock movements and pasture management
  • Overseeing and coordination of other employees
  • General farm maintenance and infrastructure upkeep
  • Record keeping and updating farm records
  • Working across two properties at times as part of a larger team

About You

  • Proven experience in livestock handling and grazing operations
  • Self-motivated, reliable andcomfortable working with a high level of independence
  • Practical, organised and capable of managing day-to-day operations
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work within a team
  • Interest in progressive farming systems and continuous improvement
  • Comfortable working in steep hilly country suited to motorbikes or horses
  • Experience with working dogs is highly regarded
