JOB DESCRIPTION
Kokopuru Station is owned and run by the Tweedie Family – a diverse Sheep and Beef business located in the Northern Hawkes Bay district of Tutira, approximately 45 mins from Napier.
It is home to the progressive Hallmark Angus Stud.
Kokopuru Station has a total area of 1337ha (1005ha effective)
· 11,000 Stock units wintered.
· 500 stud females calving.
· 2500 ewes lambed (terminal system).
· All lambs finished with some additional lambs and steers traded.
It can be described as ‘not your average stud farm’. Ewes and cows are run in large mobs and shifted on rotation. The steep high country is challenging, farmed in big blocks, and the easier, lower country is well subdivided. The property provides great mustering opportunities that require a strong team of dogs. The variety of work is huge and involves both the intense detail of individual animal identification and having the ability to see the bigger picture, mobs and have both a stud and commercial emphasis.
