General Shepherd – Glynn Wye Station (Rooney Farms)
Glynn Wye Station is a large-scale, high-country farming operation owned by Rooney Farms, spanning over 26,000 hectares across the iconic Lewis Pass corridor, just 25 minutes from Hanmer Springs.
The property combines productive flats with expansive hill and high-country, offering genuine variety and challenge in your day-to-day work. This station is a breeding and finishing property that operates a diverse sheep beef and deer system, with all replacements bred and reared on farm.
Glynn Wye operates as a fully self-sufficient unit, carrying out all cultivation, silage, drilling, and land development in-house - giving staff exposure to a wide range of farming systems and skills. We’re looking for a General Shepherd to join a team of six full-time staff, working alongside a supportive and experienced manager in a tight-knit, down-to-earth team that values good humour, mutual respect, and getting the job done right.
This role would suit someone who enjoys responsibility, takes pride in their work, and wants to continue building their skills in a well-run, progressive operation. Rooney Farms actively supports on-farm training and career development, with genuine opportunities to progress within the wider business.
