This family-owned business is 10 minutes from Balclutha, with a rural primary school close by and Kaka Point Beach at your doorstep. This is a well-developed farm with excellent infrastructure, fencing systems and farm tracks.
What:
We are looking for a Stock Manager but would also consider an experienced Shepherd looking to take the next step up to a management role. Our family run farm operates 5000 stock units, sheep and beef - breeding and finishing.
Who: Our ideal candidate will demonstrate:
A good understanding of livestock management and stockmanship
Have 2-3 working dogs under good control
High standards of animal health and welfare
Experience with stock handling, drafting, weighing and shifting
Capacity to work independently but would enjoy support from our family (which includes cheeky teenagers) and contractors when needed
Physically fit and a strong work ethic
A Full Driver's License
