Your Future Workplace

Rangiora Farming Trust is a privately owned, large-scale sheep, cattle, and deer operation located in Putorino, an hour north of Napier. Spanning approximately 2,200 hectares across two blocks, the property features a mix of hill and rolling country and includes a commercial ewe flock alongside a small Perendale stud. 

Following recent changes in senior management, the Trustees are focused on strengthening the farm’s structure and overall performance. With ongoing development plans, including infrastructure improvements and further subdivision, the business is well positioned for continued growth and future opportunities.

Your Role

Rangiora Farming is seeking a Fencer General to support ongoing development and infrastructure improvements across the property. This hands-on role involves fencing repairs and maintenance, along with new subdivision fencing. It also includes a variety of general farm tasks, such as water system maintenance and occasional stock work, and happy for you to have a working dog.

The position is well suited to someone with hill country experience who takes pride in high-quality workmanship and has strong attention to detail. You’ll need to be able to work both independently and as part of a team, using initiative and good communication skills. This is a great opportunity to be part of a progressive farming business offering a varied and practical role.

What You’ll Bring:

  • Excellent fencing skills – especially repairs and maintenance.
  • Hill country farming experience required.
  • Competence in general farm maintenance.
  • Ability to safely operate machinery and vehicles.
  • An understanding of water systems.
  • A good level of stockmanship.
  • Strong attention to detail and workmanship.
  • Good communicator and well planned.
  • Ability to work autonomously.
