Bicton is a 3,000 hectare, 12,000 DSE progressive sheep farming enterprise focused on profitable, high-quality lamb and wool production.
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Livestock Manager (Sheep) to take a leading role in the day-to-day management of our 6,000 Merino breeding ewes plus followers. Bicton finishes 4,500 lambs annually in conjunction with the irrigated cropping program of cereals, poppies, and potatoes.
Our property combines modern farming practices with a strong emphasis on animal welfare, pasture management, and continuous improvement.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone experienced in sheep production who takes pride in their work, enjoys responsibility, and wants autonomy in their role.
This could also suit a graduate with an agricultural tertiary education that has firsthand practical experience in sheep production who is looking to be fast tracked into a management role.

Sheep & Irrigated Cropping Farm
A family business that operates over 3000 grazeable hectares with an average annual stocking rate of 12,000 DSE’s
Livestock:
· 6,000+ Merino 18 micron breeding flock, plus followers. 35% joined to Merino, 65% joined to white Suffolk.
· Stud nucleus of 2-300 ewes for Merino ram replacement using high performing DP+, PWWT Rams.
· RWS Accredited
· Lambs sold mostly to TQM, Cressy or as stores
Irrigation:
· 400 Hectares of irrigation supported by 2600 megaliters of water.
· 15 circles supported by 13 Pivots. 55 Hectares of hard hose supported by 3 hard hoses
· 2025 Cropping Program included Poppies, Wheat, Barley, Potatoes, Grass Seed, Fodder (Rape, Italian and clover).
