Lake House” Tasmania is a family owned farming business in the Northern Midlands of Tasmania, farming 700ha. The fully irrigated property grows a wide range of crops from; Wheat, Barley, Canola, Carrot Seed, Chicory, Grass Seed, Fresh Peas, Poppies and Potatoes. We run 2500 ewes for fat lamb production as well as trading, agistment dairy support with halter collars and dairy grazing throughout the year on weight gain contracts.

As the Farm Worker you will be working alongside our farm manager, and you will have a keen interest in farming, be willing to learn, be able to work independently and take sole charge at times. You will work alongside the Farm Manager and pride yourself on very high work standards.  You will enjoy working in a small team and demonstrate good communication skills, reliability and honesty.

 

The farm has invested in modern machinery and facilities over the past few years including new stock yards, laneway systems and fencing, pivot irrigators and grain storage.

 

The Farm Worker role will primarily be livestock orientated, but also include broader farming responsibilitiesincluding fencing, irrigation management and tractor work.  It would be highly desirable for the successful applicant to have their own working dog.  On farm training will be included with the job, with further education and training also an option.

 

A newly renovated 3-bedroom cottage is available on the farm, and a competitive remuneration package will be based on experience. Position would also suit a family with a great local school and town ‘Cressy’ 10km from the farm and only a half-hour drive to Launceston too.
