Waipapa Group is seeking a capable and reliable Tractor Driver / Fencer General to support the effective running of its drystock operation across Ōtānepae Station and Waipapa Station.
Together, these properties form part of Waipapa Group’s 3,000ha drystock platform, within a broader 7,000ha integrated farming business spanning sheep and beef, dairy grazing, four dairy farms and forestry. This is a practical, hands-on role suited to someone who takes pride in quality workmanship, enjoys variety, and can work independently while still being part of a wider farm team.
Located around 25 minutes northwest of Taupō, the area offers an excellent balance of rural living and town convenience. Set amongst native bush and open farmland, the role provides the opportunity to work in a unique and varied farming environment, while remaining close to the lake, hot pools, mountain biking, schooling, services and the wider lifestyle opportunities Taupō is known for.
The role is focused on machinery operation, fencing and general farm maintenance across the drystock unit. You’ll be involved in tractor and implement work, fencing construction and repairs, maintenance of farm infrastructure, and seasonal support across pasture, feed, winter crop and general farm operations.
From post driving and repairs, through to mowing, cultivation, spraying support, loader work, track maintenance and water system repairs, this is a role where your practical skills will make a real difference on farm.
You’ll work closely with the farm manager and wider Waipapa team to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard. While machinery, fencing and maintenance are the core focus, you’ll also be willing to lend a hand with livestock operations from time to time when needed.
As part of Waipapa Group’s integrated farming business, this role also contributes to the way the wider operation works across livestock, land use, infrastructure, people and systems. The work you do will directly support the performance of the drystock unit, while also helping maintain the quality, safety and long-term sustainability of the wider farming platform.
