Experienced Farm Manager : Sheep, Beef & Dairy Grazing – Te Kuiti, NZ

1,450 ha    l   approx. 4,500 stock units 

Koromiko Grazing Ltd is seeking an experienced and motivated Farm Manager to take responsibility for the day-to-day running of our farming operation, someone who is capable, practical, and organised, with strong people skills and a genuine interest in livestock performance, animal welfare, and continual farm improvement. 

The successful applicant will be someone who communicates well, leads by example, supports their team, and takes pride in doing things properly.  This is a large-scale livestock and grazing operation focused on high standards of animal welfare, stock performance, and continual farm improvement.

About the property

The property comprises approximately 1,450 hectares, mostly easy rolling country, with some steeper country to farm.

Stock numbers include approximately:

• 1,100 ewes to a terminal sire, producing around 1,600 finished lambs
• 2,200 two-year dairy heifers to 30 April each year
• 1,400 weaner dairy heifers from December to May each year
• 80 Angus beef cows
• 600 trading beef

The team consists of the Farm Manager, 3.5 staff, reporting to the Business Manager.

About the role

The Farm Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day activities on the property, including staff leadership, livestock management, grazing management, feed allocation, animal welfare, and contributing to ongoing farm improvement.

This role would suit an experienced Farm Manager or someone from a dairy farming background who is looking for a change and is interested in managing feed allocation, grazing rotations, supplement harvesting, and animal weight performance.

The successful applicant will have:

• Experience managing and supporting staff
• Strong stockmanship and a high standard of animal welfare
• A practical understanding of feed allocation and grazing rotations
• Interest in animal weight performance and livestock productivity
• Ability to plan, organise, and communicate effectively
• A positive attitude and strong work ethic
• Commitment to maintaining a good team culture
• Interest in farm improvement and operating systems that support performance

This is a Permanent, full-time position with the successful applicant required to live on farm in a 4-bedroom, 2-bathroom home with heat pumps and log burning fire, along with plenty of storage and garaging.  Located 30kms from Te Kuiti, for all town supplies, services, amenities and schooling options.
