Shepherd – Waipuna Farms 2005 Ltd.
Waipuna is looking for a shepherd to join its team of 5, based between the Paraparas (SH4) and the Mangamahu Valley.
Waipuna itself is 1900ha, with an adjoining 500 ha under its management totalling 2400ha, 2200ha effective.
Waipuna Farms is a family-owned farming business which includes another 3 properties in the Whanganui area.
Waipuna is a diverse property, with a strong base of steep to medium hill country as well as a balanced amount of cultivatable area, which of that area 180ha is irrigated.
Your Role:
We are seeking an energetic person with at least 2 year’s experience
This position will appeal to someone who is a keen stockman with great attention to detail. The Role is mainly stock work though as always there is an aspect of general – 80/20 Split
We use AgriWebb to manage all on-farm records and tracking
This is an opportunity to develop your skills across all aspects of a breeding and finishing property. You will be exposed to an environment were high value feed and good stock management combine to achieve a high standard of production.
We are seeking an applicant with:
Sheep and beef experience
A team of dogs under good control or someone with a smaller team wanting to expand
Ability to work alone but also in a team
Trustworthy, tidy and honest person with a positive and strong work ethic
