No8HR is proud to partner with Tainui Group Holdings (TGH) to recruit a Farm Manager for Hangawera Station, a progressive 600 effective hectare beef and lamb finishing property located in the Waikato. The farming operation finishes approximately 600 bulls and steers and 2,000 lambs annually, while also managing 850 breeding ewes and 600 replacement cattle. Combining strong livestock performance, quality infrastructure, and a focus on innovation, Hangawera Station offers an exciting opportunity for an experienced farming leader to make a meaningful impact within a values-led iwi organisation.

The Opportunity

This is an outstanding opportunity for an experienced Farm Manager to lead a high-performing operation while contributing to the wider vision and aspirations of Waikato-Tainui.  Alongside managing Hangawera Station, you'll work collaboratively across TGH's five farming properties and play a key role in shaping the future direction of the farming business.

What You'll Bring

We're looking for a values-led farming professional who can combine strong commercial thinking with exceptional farming standards.

Ideally, you will have:

  • Minimum 5 years' Farm Management experience
  • Commercial or corporate farming exposure
  • Strong livestock finishing and stock management skills
  • Proven ability with feed budgeting and grazing management
  • An eye for detail and commitment to high-quality stock work
  • Strong reporting, planning, and communication skills
  • Confidence engaging with senior leadership and governance groups
  • A genuine interest in technology and innovation, including Halter
  • An appreciation of iwi values, environmental stewardship, and working with the aspirations of whenua owners

Location & Accommodation

Located in the rural community of Tauhei, the property offers excellent country living with a local primary school and playcentre nearby.  Secondary schooling options are available in Morrinsville, approximately 20 minutes away, while Hamilton City is an easy 40-minute commute.

The successful applicant will be provided with a tidy, warm 3-bedroom home with car shed, offering comfortable and practical living in a peaceful rural setting.
